Biotechnology Research Assistant

Description:

Agarigen Inc., an early stage start-up company, has an opening for a laboratory scientist in biotechnology research. The successful candidate will join a team focused on development of novel gene expression technologies in fungi for biomanufacturing applications. The position is a hands-on molecular biology research position.

Qualifications:

We are seeking an energetic, hard-working, self-motivated individual with a BS degree in a biological science. Preference will be given to candidates with working laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, DNA cloning and analysis. Knowledge of fungal systems or industrial experience would be a plus.

Candidates should have:

    * an interest in working on directed research with commercial applications,
    * excellent laboratory and communication skills,
    * ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment.
